New Delhi. Russian President Vladimir Putin reached Delhi today on his two-day visit to India. His plane landed at Palam Airport in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself broke the protocol and reached the airport to welcome his ‘special friend’. When Putin got down from the plane, PM Modi was present on the red carpet to welcome him. Both the leaders first shook hands with each other very warmly and then hugged each other. After this, both the leaders sat in the same car and left for the PM’s residence from the airport.

Modi has organized a private dinner in Putin’s honor at the PM’s residence. During this time only translators will be present there along with both the leaders. It is believed that some special issues may be discussed secretly during this private dinner between Modi and Putin. Putin and Modi will attend the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit tomorrow on December 5 and will discuss many important issues during the bilateral meeting. Without saying anything, Modi and Putin have given a message to the whole world about how deep the relations between India and Russia are.
While sharing pictures with Putin on social media post, Modi wrote, I am very happy to welcome my friend, President Putin to India. Eagerly looking forward to our conversations today and tomorrow. India-Russia friendship has stood the test of time and has greatly benefited our people. Earlier, before leaving for India, Putin had said in an interview to India Today that he gives more importance to personal relations than business relations with India. He had also said that he was excited about meeting PM Narendra Modi.
