New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Russian President Vladimir Putin and congratulated him on his 73rd birthday. Modi wished Putin’s good health and success. During this, Modi and Putin reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the strategic partnership between India and Russia. Prime Minister Modi expressed eagerness to welcome Russian President Putin to India for the 23rd India-Russia annual summit. The date of Putin’s visit to India is not fixed at the moment, but there is a possibility that he may come to India in the first week of December.
Putin’s visit to India is considered to be very important on many ways. Putin’s visit to India will also keep an eye on other countries including US President Donald Trump. The Russian Presidents are coming to India at a time when the US has imposed 50 percent tariff on India because India buys crude oil from Russia. Although the friendship between India and Russia is well known, but at a time when America is constantly pressurizing both Russia and India, it has strengthened the mutual relations between India and Russia.
Recently, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi went to China for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, he and Putin’s warm meeting was discussed all over the world. Not only this, after the SCO Summit, when Modi and Putin were going for bilateral talks, both of them went in the same car. Putin also waited for Modi for 10 minutes and there was a 45 -minute conversation between the two leaders in the car, while the distance he had to go was only 5 minutes. This is an example of Modi and Putin’s friendship in front of the world.
