The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has increased the fees for updating the Aadhaar card information. Now residents will pay more to change or improve the information related information in their Aadhaar card in their Aadhaar card.
The new fee structure has come into force from 1 October 2025 and will remain valid till 30 September 2028. This can be replaced after reviewing again in October 2028.
New Aadhaar update fees:
Demographic updates: Now ₹ 75 (₹ 50) if done separately. No additional fees for doing biometric updates.
Biometric Updates: Now ₹ 125. It will be ₹ 150 from October 2028.
Documents updates (Evidence of Identification/Address): Free till 14 June 2026 on the MYADHAAR portal. Now ₹ 75 (first ₹ 50) at enrollment centers.
Aadhaar printouts (from EKYC or other tools): ₹ 40 in the first phase, ₹ 50 in the second phase.
Free biometric updates for children:
First compulsory biometric update free at the age of 5-7 and 15–17 years.
Biometric update at the age of 7-15 is usually ₹ 125, but waived fees by 30 September 2026.
Home Enrollment Fee:
Home Enrollment for those who cannot go to the enrollment center, ₹ 700 (including GST).
If many people use service at the same address, then every additional person gives ₹ 350.
Aadhaar holders will now have to pay more to update their information. Children’s updates are free in some age groups, but most of the services are now expensive.
