Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched development projects worth more than Rs 60,000 crore from Jharsuguda in Odisha, saying that the state is progressing rapidly with the efforts of the ‘double engine’ government.
Modi laid the foundation stone for the expansion of eight IITs across the country, so that 10,000 new students will be able to study in IITs in the next four years.
Addressing a rally in Jharsuguda, the Prime Minister said that Odisha’s love and attachment to art and culture is world famous. Modi said that Odisha is progressing rapidly due to the efforts of the ‘double engine’ government. He flagged off the Amrit Bharat Express connecting Barahampur to Udhna in Surat district of Gujarat.
Modi said that Odia people living in Gujarat will benefit from Brahmapur-Udhana Amrit Bharat train. It is our resolve to make India self -sufficient from chip to ship.
The Prime Minister dedicated the 34 km long Koraput-Baguda railway line and 82 km long to the Manabar-Koraaput-Gorpur section nation constructed at a cost of Rs 1,400 crore.
