A major negligence of the administration has come to light at Patna’s Jaiprakash Narayan International Airport. It has been revealed that CCTV cameras are installed in the baby care room of the airport, where women breastfeed their children. This matter came to light when a Major’s wife reached there with her child and her eyes fell on the cameras installed in the room. He immediately complained about the matter after which security personnel were called to the spot.

How did you know about the cameras and what was the effect?
A Major resident of Motihari was returning by Indigo flight with his wife and child. At the airport, his wife went to the baby care room to feed the child. There her eyes fell on one and then another camera, which made her uncomfortable. She immediately informed this to her husband present outside the room. After this, the Major called the security personnel and housekeeping staff on the spot and recorded his protest by making a video.
What is the cleanliness of the administration and the existing rules?
The acting director of the airport said on this matter that he was not aware of it. He told that these cameras were installed at the time of elections and claimed that they were not working at present. However, in the name of privacy, there were only three chairs and a table in this room at the airport. This incident is raising questions about security and privacy among passengers.
According to the rules of Airport Authority of India, it is necessary to take full care of the privacy of women in the nursing room. Under Indian rules, it is considered illegal to install a camera in any toilet or privacy room. Generally, CCTV footage of the airport is kept safe for 30 days. The Major and his family have expressed their displeasure to the security personnel.
