In view of the ongoing conflict and increasing tension in West Asia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has had a detailed phone conversation with the leaders of five major countries of the world. Giving information about this, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that PM Modi has emphasized on resolving the matter through diplomacy and dialogue. India believes that all parties need to exercise restraint to restore peace in the region.

PM Modi interacted with top leaders of Oman, Malaysia, France, Jordan and Qatar on 19 March 2026. In this conversation, concern was mainly expressed over the attacks on energy infrastructure. According to MEA, PM Modi has described these attacks as unacceptable.
France: India is working together with President Emmanuel Macron to reduce tensions.
Oman: India condemned the violation of Oman’s sovereignty and talked about the security of the maritime trade route.
Jordan: Discussions were held with King Abdullah II on continuing the movement of energy and goods without any hindrance.
Kuwait: In the conversation with the Crown Prince, there was talk of sovereignty and security there.

India calls attacks on energy sector unacceptable
