Odisha Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari said on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi can visit the state on September 27 and address a public meeting in Brahmapur.
The priest said that the final schedule of the Prime Minister’s visit has not been decided yet but the preparations are in full swing. The priest said that this will be the sixth visit of Modi in the last 15 months after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came to power in the state.
The priest told reporters, “The Prime Minister has given his consent to visit Odisha on 27 September. Our Commerce and Transport Minister Vibhuti Bhushan Jena has started preparations for this tour and I will be in Brahmapur from 15 September.”
The minister said that Modi will attend the BJP’s ‘Seva Paksha’ program.
‘Seva Paksha’, starting from Prime Minister Modi’s birthday on September 17, will continue till Gandhi Jayanti on October 2.
Modi had last visited the state on 20 June to attend a ceremony on the occasion of the first anniversary of the BJP government in Odisha.
The priest said, “Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had recently invited the Prime Minister to come to Odisha during a recent visit to Delhi but it could not be possible due to pre-determined busyness.”
He said that the state government has sent a possible program to the Prime Minister’s Office, which will finalize the September 27 program.
The priest said that the BJP and the state government have planned to plant 75 lakh saplings on 17 September on the occasion of the 75th birthday of the Prime Minister.
