Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mizoram, Manipur and Assam on Saturday and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees there. Prime Minister Modi started his journey of Northeast with Aizol in Mizoram, where he founded and inaugurated the development works worth more than Rs 9000 crore.

These projects will benefit many areas including railway, road, energy and sports. Prime Minister Modi also inaugurated the first railway line of Mizoram, Bairabi-maid, which will connect the northeastern state with the rest of India.

Prime Minister Modi said, “This is not just a railway connection, but it is a lifeline of transport. It will bring revolutionary changes in the lives and livelihood of the people of Mizoram. Mizoram farmers and businesses will be able to reach more markets across the country.” Prime Minister Modi addressed the people present in the Langapui airport due to bad weather and forgiven the gathering.

He started his address saying, “I salute the supreme deity Pathian, who keeps an eye on this beautiful land of the blue mountains.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also flagged off three new express trains, Sararang (Aizawl)-Delhi (Anand Vihar Terminal) Rajdhani Express, Sararang-Guhati Express and Sararang-Kolkata Express. Izol will now be directly connected to Delhi via Rajdhani Express. Promoting the road infrastructure, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of several road projects. These include Aizawl bypass Road, Theinzole-Siyalasuk Road and Khankoun-Rongura Road.

After Imphal, Prime Minister Modi went to Churachandpur in Manipur, where he spoke to various ethnic groups and urged them to leave violence and work towards restoring peace in the state. He said that a new dawn of “hope and faith” is emerging in the northeastern state.

This was Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the state after caste conflict in May 2023, and since then the discord between Maetai and Cookie communities has continued. This struggle has caused permanent harm to Manipur, disrupting its economy, disrupting social unity and destabilizing its political landscape.

Prime Minister Modi said, “I appeal to all groups to follow the path of peace to fulfill their dreams and secure the future of their children. Today, I promise that I stand with you. The Government of India stands with the people of Manipur.”

The Prime Minister said, “Manipur has always been a land of hope, but unfortunately, it has gone through a difficult phase of violence. I met the affected people living in the camps. After talking to them, I can say” New morning of hope and trust is knocking in Manipur. “Prime Minister Modi has expressed satisfaction over the recent peace agreements with many caste groups in the state.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of several development projects costing more than Rs 7,300 crore in Churachandpur in Manipur. In line with his commitment to inclusive, sustainable and overall development of Manipur, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation for the Manipur urban road and drainage and asset management improvement project costing more than Rs 3,600 crore.

After finishing his visit to Manipur, Prime Minister Modi reached Guwahati in Assam, where he addressed the 100th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika. PM Modi also issued a ‘memorial coin and ticket’ in honor of Bharat Ratna Bhupen Hazarika.

On 14 September, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of major infrastructure and industrial development projects costing more than Rs 18,530 crore in Assam. He will lay the foundation stone of various projects in Darang at around 11 am and will address a public meeting. Subsequently, he will inaugurate the Numaligarh Refinery Plant of Assam Bio-Athanol Private Limited at Golaghat at around 1:45 pm. He will also lay the foundation stone of the Polypropylene plant at Golaghat. The Prime Minister will visit West Bengal on 15 September and inaugurate the 16th Joint Commander Conference-2025 in Kolkata at around 9:30 am.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister will visit Bihar and inaugurate the new terminal building of Purnia Airport at around 2:45 pm. Apart from this, he will also lay the foundation stone and inauguration of several development projects costing about Rs 36,000 crore in Purnia and will address the gathering on the occasion. He will also launch the National Makhana Board in Bihar.
