Delhi Police on Saturday registered a fresh FIR under sections of criminal conspiracy in the Red Fort blast investigation. The new FIR has been lodged days after the car blast near the historic Red Fort area on November 10 in which 12 people were killed.
Meanwhile, security has been beefed up around the Red Fort in view of the blast and officials are keeping a strict vigil at the entry points and surrounding areas.
A day earlier, the National Medical Commission (NMC) had canceled the registration of four doctors from Jammu and Kashmir Dr Muzaffar Ahmed, Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel and Dr Shaheen Saeed in the Indian Medical Register/National Medical Register with immediate effect, sources told ANI.
All state medical councils have been informed about this decision. Orders have been issued to all medical councils regarding the removal of the above four doctors, which will be effective from 14 November 2025.
Delhi Police has already arrested Dr Adeel Ahmed Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel and Dr Shaheen Saeed in the Delhi blasts case because of their alleged links with previous terror cases.
Around eight suspects were allegedly preparing to carry out coordinated blasts at four locations, with each pair assigned a specific target city, investigating agencies said on Thursday.
Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused groups were planning to go in pairs, and each group was carrying multiple Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to carry out the attack simultaneously.
Delhi Police confirmed that the man who carried out the car blast near the Red Fort was Dr. Omar Un Nabi, as forensic DNA testing found his biological sample matched with that of his mother.
However, Al-Falah University has distanced itself from Dr. Omar and Dr. Muzammil, saying that the university has no connection with the accused beyond its official capacity, and that no suspected chemicals or materials are being used or stored on the university campus.
On November 10, 12 people were killed and several others injured in a blast near the Red Fort complex in the national capital.
Security agencies have recovered diaries of Delhi blasts accused Dr Omar and Dr Muzammil, which contain dates from November 8 to 12, which indicate this plan.
Sources said that there was a possibility of such an incident at that time. According to sources, the diary also contained names of around 25 persons, most of whom were residents of Jammu and Kashmir and Faridabad.
Necessary DNA, explosives and other samples have been collected from the spot and sent for forensic examination. The investigation has been handed over to the National Investigation Agency.
