Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav said on Saturday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi took too long to visit Manipur, where long struggle has been going on.

He called for an early solution to the issue and also suggested that the Prime Minister should visit Assam. Talking to the journalists, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Prime Minister Modi has delayed to go there. The issue of Manipur should be resolved as soon as possible, as it has been going on for a long time … Many people have been protesting in Assam. I think he should also go to Assam.”

This is Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the state after the dispute in May 2023 and the dispute between Maetai and Cookie communities for the last few years. This struggle has caused permanent damage to Manipur, damaged its economy, disintegrated social harmony and destabilized its political scenario.

During his visit to Manipur on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi appealed to various ethnic groups in Manipur to leave violence and restore peace in the state. He said that a new dawn of “hope and faith” is emerging in the northeastern state.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects worth more than Rs 1,200 crore in Imphal, Manipur. Addressing the uproar, the Prime Minister said that today thousands of crores of projects have been inaugurated and launched for the development of Manipur. He said that these projects will make people’s lives easier and strengthen the infrastructure in the region. The Prime Minister said that new employment opportunities will be created for the youth of Manipur and sons and daughters of the state.

Prime Minister Modi said that two of the projects launched today are particularly important, including ‘Manipur Urban Road Project’ invested over Rs 3,600 crore and ‘Manipur Infotech Development Project’ with an investment of more than Rs 500 crore.
