A heart-wrenching news has come out from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport of the country’s capital Delhi. An elderly passenger died of a heart attack at Terminal 3 here. The sad thing is that during this time someone took advantage of the opportunity and stole a diamond ring worth lakhs from the finger of the dead body.
Reached airport to go to Baku
This incident took place on the morning of 4 January 2026. A 69-year-old man from Rajasthan was going on a trip to Baku (Azerbaijan) with his group. He suffered a heart attack during boarding at around 4 in the morning. The medical team tried hard to save him, but his life could not be saved. When the family found the body, the son noticed that a 5-carat diamond ring was missing from his hand.
Search for accused through CCTV footage
On the complaint of family members, Delhi Police has registered an FIR on January 24. It has been said in the complaint that marks of wearing a ring were clearly visible on the hand of the deceased. Police are now closely watching the CCTV footage of that time to find out who took out the ring during the medical emergency.
