Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for launching India’s heaviest satellite into orbit with an LVM3 rocket and laying the foundation for future missions like Gaganyaan.
The Prime Minister also said that the success of the MVM3 rocket capable of carrying heavy payloads has also strengthened India’s growing role in the global launch market.
ISRO’s AVM3 rocket placed the 6.5 tonne ‘Bluebird Block 2’ satellite of American company ‘AST Space Mobile’ into orbit.
“This is a major achievement in India’s space sector,” Prime Minister Modi said in a post on ‘X’. The successful launch of LVM-M6, which successfully launched Bluebird Block-2, the heaviest satellite ever launched from Indian soil, into its intended orbit is a proud achievement in India’s space journey.” He said, ”It strengthens India’s heavy payload launch capability and further strengthens our growing role in the global commercial launch market.” He said.
Modi said the MVM3 launch also reflects the efforts being made towards a self-reliant India and congratulated the hardworking space scientists and engineers. He said, “India is continuously reaching new heights in the world of space. With the power of India’s youth, our space program is becoming more advanced and effective.
“With LVM3’s reliable performance carrying heavy payloads, we are laying the foundation for future missions like Gaganyaan, expanding commercial launch services and deepening global partnerships,” the Prime Minister said. “This boost to capacity and self-reliance is great for future generations,” the Prime Minister said.
