New Delhi. Swami Chaitanyanand, accused of sexual harassment, has been arrested. Delhi Police arrested Swami Chaitanyanand from a hotel in Agra, UP. The police is preparing to present him on remand. Several students of a private management institute in Delhi have told the police that Chaitanyanand sexually assaulted them. On August 4, an FIR was registered by the Delhi Police against Swami Chaitanyanand. Since then, Chaitanyanand was absconding. His location was found in Agra. After which the Delhi Police team was searching for Chaitanyanand in Tajanagari.
17 girl students have accused Chaitanyanand of sending sexual harassment and obscene messages. The victim students have also told the police that some faculty and administrative employees in their college also pressured them to accept the demands of Chaitanyanand. Chaitanyananda is also known as Parthasarathi. He is a self -styled spiritual guru. Chaitanyanand is the former director of private engineering and management institutes at Vasant Kunj, Delhi. On investigating about Chaitanyanand, the Delhi Police came to know that he targeted the students studying especially economically weaker and management diploma under scholarship. The students have told the Delhi Police that Chaitanyanand sexually harassed, abused, send obscene messages on WhatsApp.
During the investigation, Delhi Police has also come to know that Chaitanyanand deleted the WhatsApp messages sent to the victims through several women staff in private management college. When the Delhi Police raided the institute, the Volvo car of Chaitanyanand was also found from the basement. The car had a fake number plate of the embassy. A separate FIR has been written against Chaitanyanand in this case. At the same time, Shri Sharda Peetham Shringeri Ashram, who runs the Management Institute, has also filed a complaint against Chaitanyanand. The ashram says that Chaitanyanand has been involved in illegal activities. He says that he was removed from the institute for this reason.
