Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the rendition of Vande Mataram by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali at a function to welcome him here as “heart-touching”.
Modi posted a video on Twitter on Wednesday, in which three Ethiopian singers are seen singing the Indian national anthem.
The Prime Minister and the members of the Indian delegation can be seen clapping enthusiastically during this time.
“Yesterday at a dinner hosted by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, Ethiopian singers gave a wonderful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’. It was a deeply emotional moment at a time when we are celebrating 150 years of ‘Vande Mataram’,” Modi said in a post.
Modi is on a visit to three countries for four days. He arrived here from Jordan on Tuesday and will leave for Oman from here.
India is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the national song ‘Vande Mataram’ this year.
