Relief on security and visa for Indians in UAE
Currently, about 35 lakh Indians live in UAE, which is the largest expatriate community there. Given the war situation, there was fear in the minds of many people, but the Ambassador made it clear on March 10 that there is no threat of any kind inside the UAE. Along with this, the government has also taken a big decision regarding visa.
Overstay fines have been waived off for those whose visas have expired after February 28 due to flight cancellations. This exemption has been given by the ICP department of UAE so that the common people do not face any problem. Passport and visa work is going on as normal at the Indian Embassies in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Flights, helpline and further preparations of the government
The Indian government is in constant touch with the Gulf countries and is working to help the people. So far, about 67 thousand Indian citizens and transit passengers have returned safely to India. The embassy has issued a 24×7 helpline number for any emergency and people have been asked to register on the embassy website.
Schools and Indian businesses in UAE are also open as usual. If the situation changes in the future, full preparations have been made to make the schools online. The Ministry of External Affairs has appealed to the people to avoid unnecessary travel and rely only on correct and official information.
