Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav criticized the opposition parties for criticizing the Goods and Services Tax (GST) reforms to be implemented from Monday. Comparing taxes levied on domestic goods during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, he was subjected to taxes levied after the tax imposed in GST.

Addressing a press conference in the national capital, he said, “GST reforms have come into force today. Some time ago I was in a market in RK Puram and people buying goods there also said that they are happy.”

He said, “During the UPA rule, there was a tax of tax on industries and MSMEs. The trap of many taxes was integrated into GST. When GST was widely accepted, the next generation reforms were brought. Steps step by step, I have reached a good position. I thank Prime Minister Modi and Finance for these reforms.” I thank Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister. “The Union Minister said that the UPA government said that the UPA government has a lot of less Has gone.

Ashwini Vaishnav said, “The opposition is unhappy. There was only talk and no work in his time. The UPA had imposed 30 percent tax on cement. How will a common man fulfill his dream of building his house? Now it is 18 percent … UPA imposed a 13 percent tax on sanitary pads, and now there is no tax on them. There is no tax on the paint used in the houses; Now it is 30 percent; Now it is 18 percent; Now it is 18 percent; It was 18 percent. “

In addition, he said that household items such as refrigerators and television cannot be classified as luxury items, while goods such as detergent, shampoo and coffee were incurred under UPA rule under UPA rule, while it is 5 percent under GST 2.0.

Vaishnav said, “Every family wishes that it has a refrigerator and television; These were not the items of luxury at that time. The refrigerator was 30 percent tax on the refrigerator, which has now come down to 18 percent. The tax on detergent and shampoo was 30 percent, it was now 5 percent. It is now 5 percent. Coffee is reduced from 30 percent to 5 percent.”

He said, “It was 12 percent tax on fertilizer and urea for farmers, now it is 5 percent.” Ashwini Vaishnav’s comments came after the attack by opposition leaders amidst the implementation of GST reforms. Earlier, senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that Modi had opposed GST as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Ramesh, general secretary in-charge of communication affairs in the Congress, told ANI, “From 2006 to 2014, only one Chief Minister opposed GST and became the Prime Minister in 2014 and emerged as the messiah of GST taking U-turn in 2017.”

He further stated that recently announced GST reforms are limited, as they do not provide ease of removing process complications of MSME sector. He said, “The recent reforms in GST are limited. The need to make the processal complications of the MSME sector easier has not been met.”

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari accused the Center of robbing the poor and middle class citizens. Tiwari told ANI, “Who should increase the question that GST increased it? Who put it on the country by increasing it for eight years? You (PM Modi) You (PM Modi) should have apologized to the country yesterday. Congress and opposition were demanding ‘one nation, a tax’. But you were demanding only a slab on a nation, a tax. Robbed. “
