Jeetan Ram Manjhi, Union Minister and founder of Hindustani Awam Morcha, reiterated his request to contest 20 seats in the upcoming assembly elections under the National Democratic Alliance, saying that if the NDA does not allocate enough seats to his party, it is a “do or die” situation for HAM.
He said that his party has not set any goals, but he needs enough seats to get recognition in the assembly. Manjhi told reporters, “We have not set any such goal yet. But it is true that this is a do or dying situation for us … We will request the NDA to allot us enough seats so that our party can be recognized in the assembly.”
On September 3, Jeetan Ram Manjhi demanded 20 seats in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections. Former Bihar Chief Minister Manjhi told ANI, “The general public and our workers demand that we need such seats that can save our dignity. If the NDA has sympathy for us and they want to recognize our party, then they should give at least 20 seats in Bihar assembly elections.”
Hindustani Awam Morcha is officially in alliance with the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Behar elections are expected to be held in October or November; However, the Election Commission of India (ECI) has not announced the official date.
