America has issued a new security warning for its citizens living in Gulf countries. It has been told that now only commercial flights are the main way to get out of the area. UAE’s land borders with Saudi Arabia and Oman are currently open, but one may face heavy crowds and strict rules. Passengers have been advised not to go to the airport without a confirmed ticket as entry without a ticket will not be allowed due to security reasons.

Now only those people who have confirmed tickets are getting entry at Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports. Due to a fire incident near Dubai International Airport on 16 March 2026, flights had to be diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport for some time. Air India Express had also canceled some flights to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah recently. Passengers have been advised to check the status from their airline’s website before going to the airport and be prepared for any changes.

Visa and passport validity rules are being strictly enforced at the UAE-Saudi and UAE-Oman borders. Due to heavy traffic and crowd at the border, the journey may take a lot of time. Airlines like Air India and IndiGo have increased the fuel charges which may increase the ticket rates. SalamAir has increased its flights between Muscat and Fujairah for the convenience of passengers. The US Mission has asked its citizens to stay in safe places and stock up on essential goods.
