US President Donald Trump has given another big warning after the recent attacks on Iran’s Kharg Island. He has said that America may carry out more attacks on Kharg Island in the coming days. Amidst this tension, the concern of Indians living in Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar and Oman has increased. In view of the situation, CBSE has also canceled the 12th board examination to be held in these countries.

What happened on Iran’s Kharg Island?

On March 13, 2026, America’s Central Command (CENTCOM) launched a major attack on more than 90 military bases on Iran’s Kharg Island. According to Trump, Iran’s military infrastructure has been completely destroyed by the American attacks. He said that oil pipelines and terminals have been deliberately abandoned so that it does not take years to rebuild them.

He further said that if the movement of ships in the Strait of Hormuz is stopped, then attacking oil targets will also be considered. Kharg Island is the most important oil center of Iran from where almost 90 percent of its crude oil is exported.

What will be the impact on Indians living in Gulf countries?

Due to this war, the migrants and their families living in Gulf countries are being directly affected. In view of the tension, CBSE has canceled the Class 12 board examinations to be held between March 16 and April 10, 2026 in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and UAE. This has affected the studies of thousands of Indian students living there.

Iran’s IRGC had issued a warning for three major ports of UAE and claimed that the US used UAE facilities for the attack. However, UAE has completely rejected these claims. Apart from this, America has ordered all its citizens present in Iraq to leave the country immediately.

How much damage has been done in the war so far?

Since this military operation started on 28 February 2026, the death toll has crossed 2000. At least 15 people have been killed in a separate attack on a factory in Isfahan, Iran. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has vowed to respond to any attack on energy facilities.

Trump has also appealed to countries like China, France, Japan, South Korea and UK to deploy their warships for the security of the Strait of Hormuz. He also made it clear that Iran seems ready for an agreement but the current conditions are not enough for them yet.
