New Delhi. The BJD, BRS and Akali Dal have kept distance from voting in the Vice Presidential elections. The BJD has 7 MPs in the Rajya Sabha. Whereas, BRS has 4 MPs in Rajya Sabha and Akali Dal 1 in Lok Sabha and 2 in Rajya Sabha. If you look at this number of MPs of the three parties, 14 MPs will not vote. Only Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha MPs vote in the Vice President’s election. In such a situation, NDA candidate CP Radhakrishnan was given the BJD, BRS and Akali Dal’s decision not to vote. It is scheduled to get more votes against Sudarshan Reddy.

At present, there are 542 MPs in the Lok Sabha. One seat in the House is vacant. Whereas, the number of MPs in Rajya Sabha is 239. Which is 6 less. Thus the total number of MPs of Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha is 781. To win the Vice Presidential election, the candidates needed the votes of 391 MPs, but the number of votes required for victory due to not voting for 14 MPs of BJD, BRS and Akali Dal is now 384. The NDA has 425 MPs, including Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. YSRCP has decided to vote for CP Radhakrishnan. Due to this, the number of MPs in their favor has increased to 436.

At the same time, the opposition has 324 MPs. In this way, the Vice Presidential candidate of the opposition B.K. Sudarshan Reddy currently lacks 112 votes to win. Right now 7 independents of the Lok Sabha, 1 of JDPM and Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal of Aam Aadmi Party have not told whom they will vote. If all of them decide to vote for NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate CP Radhakrishnan, then their victory figure will increase to 445. At the same time, if these 9 MPs are the Vice Presidential candidate of the opposition, B.K. Even if he decides to vote for Sudarshan Reddy, he will not win. In such a situation, the opposition has expected the NDA MP to break up. However, it seems impossible to happen. Explain that whip does not work in the election of the President, Vice President and Rajya Sabha MPs. In such a situation, MPs are free to vote for anyone.
