Vaishnav Krishnakumar, an 18-year-old Indian student living in Dubai, died suddenly. The very next day of Diwali, he suddenly collapsed outside his house late in the evening. According to preliminary information, he died due to cardiac arrest.
Vaishnav was a first-year BBA (Marketing) student at Middlesex University in Dubai and also had a UAE Golden Visa — considered a major achievement for overseas students from India.
📌Deep mourning among school and teachers – “He was our star”
Vaishnav was an alumnus of GEMS Our Own Indian School and had also been the head of the school council in his final year. The circular issued by the school read:
“We are deeply saddened. Vaishnav was one of our most loving, capable and helpful students. He was loved by his teachers and classmates. The entire school family is devastated by this loss.”
School principal Lalita Suresh also said that the entire staff is in shock and it is difficult to describe the state of mind at this time.

🕯️ How did the incident happen?
A person close to the family said that he was at a festive gathering and suddenly collapsed while dancing. The ambulance immediately took him to the hospital, but according to doctors a pulse was not found for several minutes, and he was declared dead at 10:35 pm.
“He was absolutely healthy, had no medical history, so all this is shocking,” the source said.
The post-mortem report is awaited.
