The ongoing conflict in West Asia and the Gulf region has now entered its second month. India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) informed on Monday that a total of eight Indian citizens have died in this conflict so far. Apart from this, an Indian citizen is still missing. Indian Mission is continuously coordinating with the local authorities to bring back the mortal remains of an Indian worker who lost his life in the recent attack in Kuwait.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reported on Monday, 30 March 2026 that a service building of one of their power and water plants was attacked on Sunday. Kuwait has described this attack as an aggressive action. An Indian employee working there died in this attack. Technical and emergency response teams were deployed at the spot immediately after the attack. The Indian Embassy in Kuwait has expressed deep sorrow over the incident and said that they are working with Kuwaiti authorities to provide all possible assistance to the victim’s family.
Casualty figures so far and government updates
Asim R Mahajan, Additional Secretary (Gulf) in the Ministry of External Affairs, shared the latest figures during a briefing in New Delhi. He confirmed that the death toll of Indians has increased since the beginning of the conflict. Earlier on March 23, 6 deaths were reported, but now this number has increased to 8. This remains a matter of concern for Indians and their families living in the Gulf region.
