Shyamakanu Mahant, the organizer of the Northeast India Festival, arrested in the case of singer Zubeen Garg’s death, has approached the Assam Police Special Investigation Team (SIT) to hand over the Supreme Court to investigate the case to a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or the National Investigation Agency (NIA), demanding it to a central agency like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The Mahant, who was arrested by the Assam CID, has also demanded the appointment of a retired Supreme Court Judge for monitoring and supervision of the singer’s death.

The Mahant, arrested by the CID, urged the Supreme Court to hand over the case from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Assam Police to a central agency like the National Investigation Agency (NIA) or the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The singer died in a scuba diving accident in Singapore on 19 September, the death occurred a day before performing at the Northeast India Festival.

Expressing concern over fairness in the petition, the FIR lodged in Assam was demanded to be transferred to another state.

On Thursday, Assam CID also added the charge of murder in the FIR. Special DGP (CID) Munna Prasad Gupta is leading the 10 -member SIT who is investigating the case.

Apart from Mahanta, Zubeen’s manager Siddharth Sharma, bandmate Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and co-gayika Amritprabha Mahant were also arrested. Zubeen’s untimely death has attracted widespread attention to Assam and other places, and fans and civil society groups have demanded intensive and fair investigation.

The petition also demanded the police to detain the Mahant or his family members from taking it into custody or preventing any punitive action against them. However, he has already been arrested.

Mahanta alleged that “his life and personal freedom have been threatened by the anger of the public and the media.”

He also demanded adequate protection for himself and his family members in view of the anger of the public and media. Mahanta claimed that “a planned manner being targeted” and alleged that false stories were being spread against him in the media.

He also urged the Supreme Court to instruct the officials to preserve all the important evidence, including the post -mortem report and the records of Singapore officials.

The petition stated, “Singapore officials said that there was no mistake.

He strongly dismissed the allegations against him and said that the allegations are “ridiculous”.
