New Delhi. Delhi government minister and Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Patel Nagar Rajkumar Anand resigned from the post of minister on Wednesday and also left the membership of Aam Aadmi Party. Rajkumar Anand openly resigned, which made his rebellion public. But there are some big faces and MPs of Aam Aadmi Party, whose continuous absence seems to pose a big crisis in front of Aam Aadmi Party. On one hand, Aam Aadmi Party is facing ongoing investigation in the liquor policy matter, party convenor and Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in judicial custody.
On the other hand, former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been in jail for more than a year, while on the other hand, the continuously weakening party organization is becoming a big concern. The biggest example of this is that the Aam Aadmi Party, which emerged from the fight and movement against corruption, failed to create any major movement at the time of the arrest of its biggest leader. The biggest reason for this is believed to be the lack of activity of the biggest leaders of the party. Aam Aadmi Party has a total of 11 MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha together, out of which the only Lok Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Rinku has already left Aam Aadmi Party and joined BJP. Of the remaining 10 MPs, only Sanjay Singh, ND Gupta and Sandeep Pathak are seen active on the ground. The remaining 7 MPs are either completely missing or are avoiding speaking on the action being taken against Arvind Kejriwal or other party leaders.
Where is Raghav Chadha?
Raghav Chadha, considered closest to Arvind Kejriwal and who stood for the Aam Aadmi Party on every front, has been completely missing for the last one month. Chadha went to London last month for his eye surgery and is completely missing from Aam Aadmi Party related activities. When wife Parineeti Chopra returned to India for her upcoming film, the headlines regarding Raghav’s absence started increasing. Even news started spreading on social media that Raghav was found meeting with a Union Minister in London. However, after the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal on March 21, Raghav Chadha is vocal on Twitter. Media reports regarding Raghav Chaddha’s return to India say that the doctor has forbidden him to go out in the hot sun. Leaders close to Raghav say that as soon as the doctors allow him to go out, he will be seen raising the flag of Aam Aadmi Party again.
Swati Maliwal also absent?
Swati Maliwal, who was recently sent to Rajya Sabha, has gone to America for the treatment of her sister. Recently, BJP’s Amit Malviya tweeted about Swati Maliwal’s absence, to which Swati responded aggressively. While tweeting about her absence, Swati Maliwal wrote, ‘Please wait for a little while. IT Cell fake news factory… Sister’s treatment is getting completed and I will be coming very soon. From the streets to the Parliament, I will fight against the enemies of the country like you…and yes, I have been working with Arvind Kejriwal since before you even learned to speak BJP and will do so till my death. The boat which you are saying is sinking, has risen further due to your atrocities. Just as you were troubled in the Women’s Commission for 9 years, be prepared for the next 6 years also! Jai Hind!’Although Swati Maliwal is constantly active on social media and is vocally opposing the action being taken against Arvind Kejriwal as well as the Aam Aadmi Party, but the Aam Aadmi Party is definitely suffering because of the bigger movements among the public. Swati Maliwal’s name also comes up among the people known for standing up.
Harbhajan Singh’s presence or absence is not the same!
Ever since Aam Aadmi Party sent Harbhajan Singh to Rajya Sabha, he has rarely attended any political program of the party. Leave aside normal political programmes, Harbhajan Singh has been seen maintaining complete silence even on the arrest of his party convener Arvind Kejriwal. He is continuously tweeting about IPL on social media. On March 24, he congratulated Bhagwant Mann on the birth of his daughter but he is not writing or saying anything on the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal. According to media reports, when Harbhajan Singh was asked whether he would participate in the protest demonstrations being organized by the Aam Aadmi Party, he clearly refused.
Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal also missing!
Ashok Mittal, founder of the famous Lovely Professional University of Jalandhar, has also been continuously maintaining distance from activities related to Aam Aadmi Party. Media reports suggest that he is waiting for a signal from the party headquarters to participate in any movement in support of the Aam Aadmi Party. His displeasure was also visible in some statements that he was not even invited by the party to a recent program.
Kejriwal did not get support from Punjab?
Arvind Kejriwal has been calling Bhagwant Mann his younger brother in his addresses, there is considered to be a lot of closeness between the two. This closeness was also seen when after the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, he immediately reached Delhi to join the protests related to Aam Aadmi Party. But maximum resentment is being seen among the party workers regarding the Rajya Sabha MPs nominated from Punjab. Because Aam Aadmi Party is not getting support from Rajya Sabha MPs of Punjab in difficult times.
‘Rs 8500 will keep coming knocking and knocking…’, Rahul Gandhi’s new formula to eradicate poverty in India in one stroke.
Sanjeev Arora, Balveer Singh Seechewal and Vikramjit Sahni were also sent to Rajya Sabha from Punjab, but the continuous absence of these three and Rajya Sabha MPs is also being seen. Also, little to no activity has been seen after the arrest of our party chief. According to the statements given to the media by Vikramjit Sahni and Balveer Singh Seechewal, they are calling themselves active. When Sanjeev Arora was asked about his absence from the Maharally of India Alliance held at Ramlila Maidan, he told that he was busy in a program related to Aam Aadmi Party in Ludhiana, hence could not reach Ramlila Maidan. In clarification, he said that he is in constant touch with other MPs and top leaders of the party.
As soon as Sanjay Singh came out, enthusiasm was visible among the workers!
After getting bail from the Supreme Court, Sanjay Singh was released from Tihar Jail on 3 April. The bail granted to MP Sanjay Singh has greatly strengthened the organization of the Aam Aadmi Party. After the jailing of party convenor Kejriwal, Sanjay Singh currently remains the poster boy of the party. Aam Aadmi Party leaders believe that the workers and the organization were greatly hurt after Arvind Kejriwal was arrested and then sent to judicial custody. But the bail granted to Sanjay Singh has acted as a booster for the party. Of course, the rest of the Aam Aadmi Party MPs may be silent, but Sanjay Singh’s exit just before the Lok Sabha elections has brought life to the party.
