New Delhi. The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare is running the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) scheme to increase the income of farmers. Under this scheme, 39800 projects have been prepared across the country in the last four years, which are proving beneficial for farmers and people involved in agricultural work. It has been more than four years since this scheme started.
According to the ministry, a total of loans worth Rs 40017 crore have been approved till March 2024. This also includes small and big farmers and FPOs, Agri entrepreneurs. Under this, an investment of Rs 67000 crore has been made for 61355 projects. Under the scheme, 39800 projects have been prepared, in which 12623 warehousing, 13383 primary processing units, 2739 shorting and grading units, 1644 cold storage and 16380 agri infra related industries have been prepared. In this way, this scheme is proving beneficial for farmers and people associated with agriculture.

Under this scheme, a farmer can take a maximum loan of up to Rs 2 crore. Although he can take more loan as per his need, but under this scheme the loan benefit will be up to Rs. 2 crores. Under this, apart from agriculture, loans can be given for other works related to agriculture such as setting up a mill, setting up a mill, cold storage, warehousing and agri entrepreneurship.
