Islamabad. Pakistan National Assembly chairman Asad Qaiser adjourned the National Assembly (NA) session without raising the issue of no-confidence vote, while opposition Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said Prime Minister Imran Khan was running away from the no-confidence motion.
Talking to the media outside Parliament House, he asked, “What kind of captain runs away from competition?”
He claimed that the NA president was Khan’s facilitator and hence he refrained from taking the no-confidence motion.
“In the name of tradition, he is trying to save Imran Khan,” he said.
The PPP chief also took to Twitter to condemn the move of the government.
He said, “The Speaker today provided yet another weak excuse to avoid moving a no-confidence motion in the National Assembly. Imran cannot go on forever. The PM has no players and cannot face defeat with grace,” he said. A great captain will go down like a rat on a sinking ship.”
The government wanted to run away from the no-confidence motion but the opposition was united and would not allow this ‘selected person’ to run away.
“How long will the selected ones survive no confidence? We will use the democratic weapon of distrust against this undemocratic man, Imran Khan,” he said.
The PPP chief also hailed the people of Pakistan, who claimed to have rejected the ‘chosen one’, saying that Khan’s government was over and that he would soon be a former prime minister.
