New Delhi: Team India’s defeat in the final of the World Test Championship has created panic. India has lost in the final for the second time in a row. Along with this defeat, many old things are also coming out. Something similar has been disclosed by former BCCI boss Sourav Ganguly in one of his interviews. Sourav Ganguly told in his interview that Virat Kohli had given up the Test captaincy on his own and the BCCI was not at all ready for it. Sourav Ganguly said, ‘I supported Rohit Sharma to be made captain in all three formats. After this, Virat Kohli gave up the captaincy of the Test. Though the BCCI wanted Kohli to retain the Test captaincy, it did not happen.
Regarding the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, Sourav Ganguly said, ‘I believe that at present, Rohit Sharma is the best option for captaincy in all three formats. However, this is the job of the selector. Virat Kohli himself left the captaincy two years back. If you ask me what is right for the team right now, then I would say that Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid are the best for the team as captains.

He said, ‘I think Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid will lead the team till the ODI World Cup to be held this year. Although I do not know what Rohit Sharma’s plans will be after the World Cup, but at this point of time there is no one better than Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid.
Please tell that the ODI World Cup is to be held in India this year. Team India last won the World Cup title in India in 2011 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. In such a situation, once again Team India has a great chance to become the world champion.
