New Delhi. Following the strict stance of the Central Government, Google has immediately corrected the objectionable information in the question asked about PM Narendra Modi in its Gemini Chatbot. In its statement, Google said that it took immediate action to resolve the issue. Google has said in its clarification that Gemini chatbot may not always be correct on current affairs and political issues. Google recently named its Bard AI model Gemini, but it came into controversy.
When asked for information about PM Modi, Google’s Gemini gave an objectionable answer. A screenshot of this reply of Gemini was also posted on social media by an ex-user. After this the post went viral. This also caught the attention of Modi government’s Minister of State for Electronics and IT Rajiv Chandrashekhar. While sharing this post, he had said that this response of Google’s AI Gemini has violated many laws. Rajiv Chandrashekhar had written that objectionable information about Modi is a violation of 3(1)(b) of the IT Rules. Besides, this also violates the criminal code. The central government is also going to send a notice to Google. Before that Google has issued a statement to correct the mistake. Now the minister has said that our digital citizens cannot be a part of the experiment on any platform. Rajiv Chandrashekhar has said that security and trust are the legal obligations of these platforms. He has said that saying sorry and without trust cannot go out of the scope of the law.
Govt has said this bfr- I repeat for attn of @GoogleIndia,
➡️Our DigitalNagriks are NOT to be experimented on with “unreliable” platforms/algos/model⛔️
➡️Safety & Trust is platforms legal obligation✅️
➡️“Sorry Unreliable” does not exempt from law⛔️https://t.co/LcjJZmZ3Qp

Gemini was asked the same question about PM Narendra Modi, former US President Donald Trump, and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelinsky, but the chatbot gave different answers. Google Gemini’s response to the Trump and Zelinsky issue was diplomatic. At the same time, his answer about Modi was direct. On this, people had reacted that Google’s AI chatbot was adopting one attitude towards America and its allied countries and another attitude towards other countries. Google had also disabled picture generation on Gemini when a similar controversy surfaced.
