In the capital Delhi itself, in the month of March, the heat has made people sweat. Delhi’s maximum temperature was six degrees above normal on Saturday. This is the fifth day in a row when the maximum mercury has remained at the mark of 4 degrees Celsius or more.
The sun was shining brightly in most areas of Delhi since Saturday morning. As the day progressed, the sun got brighter. In the afternoon, people felt very hot. Generally, the feeling of pink cold persists in the month of March. But, this time the heat is already starting to break the sweat. Delhi’s Standard Observatory Safdarjung recorded a maximum temperature of 36.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday. Which is six degrees above normal. Whereas, the minimum temperature was 19.8 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees above normal. The humidity level here ranged from 94 to 38 percent. The Ayanagar area of Delhi was the hottest. The maximum temperature recorded here was 37 degree Celsius. The Meteorological Department has forecast that there is no chance of getting relief from the scorching heat for the next three-four days. Due to strong sunlight throughout the day, the maximum mercury will remain in the range of 36 to 37 degree Celsius.

For the last five consecutive days, the maximum temperature in Delhi has been running four to six degrees above normal. The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 36.6 degree Celsius. It was the hottest day of the season. Earlier on Thursday, the maximum mercury was recorded up to 36.1 degrees.
