Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train News: Work is going on in full swing to run the first bullet train in India. The country’s first bullet train will be run between Mumbai-Ahmedabad. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, who arrived in Surat on Monday to take stock of the project, told PTI that the ministry will run India’s first bullet train between Surat and Bilimora in the state of Gujarat in 2026.
The Railway Minister said that the work has been done fast at this place. He said that the infrastructure construction for the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train has accelerated and the work is being done at a brisk pace. The government has set a target of running a high speed train between Surat and Bilimora in the year 2026.
Bullet train speed and distance
The country’s first bullet train will be run between Ahmedabad and Mumbai at a speed of 320 kmph, covering a distance of 508 km and 12 stations. The duration of the bullet train is expected to be reduced from six hours to about three hours. According to Vaishnav, pillars have been installed on a 61 km stretch for the project and work is underway on a stretch of about 150 km.
Land acquisition work not yet completed
The land acquisition for the bullet train in Mumbai city is yet to be completed. The Railway Minister said that the pace was slow due to issues related to land acquisition, but now the work is being completed at a rapid pace. The Railway Minister said that till the land acquisition work is not completed in the state of Maharashtra, the focus will be on Gujarat.
Railway Minister inspected here
The Railway Minister inspected the operation of a sectional casting yard of Bullet Train Corridor near Vaktana village in Choryasi taluka of Surat and also visited Antoli station under construction. Later Vaishnav along with Minister of State for Railways Darshan Jardosh also visited the project site at Nasilpur in Navsari.
