Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) on March 29. PM Modi will virtual inaugurate 5.21 lakh houses here. For this a program virtual ‘Graha Pravesh’ has been organized. In the information released by the state government, it has been told that so far the construction of 24.10 lakh houses has been completed, while more are being done.
These include 23,000 houses for people belonging to Baiga, Sahariya and Bharia tribal communities. The state government has set a target to provide houses to all the homeless families of the state under this scheme by 2024. PM Modi will participate in the virtual house-warming ceremony of houses built for 5.21 lakh beneficiaries under the PMAY (Gramin) scheme on March 29, the release said.
State Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had also said in a statement that work is going on fast under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. In the coming two years i.e. by 2024, all the homeless people in the state will be given houses.
What is PM Awas Yojana
The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana was launched by PM Narendra Modi on 1 April 2016 on behalf of the Department of Rural Development, Government of India. Under this scheme, a target has been set to provide houses to all the homeless people by 2024. Under this scheme, they are given houses, are financially weak and do not have pucca houses to live in.
How much and what – what are the benefits
Under this scheme, Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.30 lakh is given to each of the beneficiaries. This money is given in installments, the first installment of which is Rs 25,000, the second and third installment is Rs 40,000-45,000 and the fourth installment is Rs 15,000. Apart from this, Rs 12,000 is given to every beneficiary within 90 to 95 days under the MGNREGA scheme for the construction of toilets.
