The central government on Saturday cut excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 7 a liter. There are different types of reactions about it. BJP National President JP Nadda said that within 6 months PM Modi has reduced the excise duty on petrol and diesel twice. Common people will get direct benefit from this decision. More than 9 crore beneficiaries of Ujjwala Yojana will now get a subsidy of Rs 200 per gas cylinder. Nadda said that this will cost the government one lakh crore rupees, but the people of the country will benefit from it.
Nadda said that the central government had cut excise duty on petrol by Rs 10 and diesel by Rs 5 in November last year, while BJP-ruled states had cut value added tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel, but opposition parties had not done so.
What did the users say on Nadda’s talk – a user named Professor Malik (@profmalik_l23) asked- ‘Okay, tell me how many times to increase it? While Kunal Kamra ( @kunalkamra88) wrote- The gas cylinder which was available ten months ago for Rs 800, the same cylinder is cheaper in 800 today…Modiji’s magic.
