Mumbai The action of central agencies on the ministers of the Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra is continuing. The latest case is of Transport Minister Anil Parab. Enforcement Directorate ED today raided 7 locations of Anil Parab located in Mumbai, Pune and Dapoli. These raids have been carried out over alleged irregularities in a land deal in Dapoli area. The ED alleges that money laundering has been done in the land deal. The ED had registered a new FIR in this case. Earlier, the ED had taken similar action against former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and Minorities Minister Nawab Malik and sent them to jail.
Anil Pabar’s age is 57 years. He was elected Shiv Sena MLA for the third time in the Maharashtra Legislative Council. The latest ED action is on allegations of money laundering in the purchase of Rs 1 crore land by Parab in the year 2017 in Dapoli. The registry of this land was done in the year 2019. Apart from this, there are many other cases against Anil Parab. The ED has alleged that the land deal dealt with by Parab was later sold to a Mumbai-based cable operator Sadanand Kadam for Rs 1 crore 10 lakh in 2020. During this time a resort was also built on the land.
Earlier, the Income Tax Department had also investigated the matter of this land. The Income Tax Department had alleged that the construction of the resort started in the year 2017 and more than Rs 6 crore was spent on it. The ED had earlier questioned Anil Pabar in a money laundering case involving former minister Anil Deshmukh. Even then Parab could not give proper answer. After this ED made a fresh FIR and its result is today’s action.
