Mohan Bhagwat in Ujjain: Ujjain (Naiduniya representative). On the first day of Shivnavratri in Jyotirlinga Mahakal temple, on Monday, Sangh chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat had darshan of Bhasmarti. After that, Panchamrit Abhishek worship of Lord Mahakal was also performed in the sanctum sanctorum. The officials presented him a silver insignia on behalf of the temple committee. Here the priests demanded that the temples should be freed from governmentisation.
The Sangh chief reached the Mahakaleshwar temple at 4 am amid tight security. He was taken inside through a special gate. Bhagwat had darshan of Bhasmarti by sitting in Nandi Hall. Worshiped Lord Mahakal in the sanctum sanctorum. Tight security arrangements were made in the temple premises as well. No one was even allowed to operate a mobile inside. Permission for Bhasmarti Darshan was issued in the committee number on Monday so that there should not be any kind of disorder on the arrival of the Sangh chief. The devotees who got permission sat in Kartikeya and Ganesh Mandapam and saw Bhasmarti.

During the worship in the sanctum sanctorum, the priest of the temple and the president of the Abha Pujari federation, Pt. Mahesh Pujari, demanded the union chief to free the temples from government tax. He said that governmentization should be abolished while maintaining the lineage tradition in the temples. Mahesh Guru told that the Sangh chief listened carefully to his request and said that work is going on in this direction. He was garlanded with Rudraksha by the priests.
