Health Minister confirmed, maximum four cases were reported from Jaipur and Alwar
Jaipur, July 14 (IANS)| State Health Minister Raghu Sharma confirmed that a total of 11 cases of the new Kappa variant of Kovid have been found in Rajasthan. He said that four cases were reported from Jaipur and Alwar, while two in Barmer and one in Bhilwara. Sharma said that 11 cases of Kappa Kovid variant have been detected in Rajasthan, out of which four cases are from Jaipur and Alwar, two from Barmer and one from Bhilwara.
Sharma further said that nine of these samples tested positive for the kappa variant from Delhi, while two at the Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital in Jaipur came out positive. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh had also reported two such cases after genome sequencing of 109 samples at King George’s Medical College in Lucknow, though the remaining 107 were found positive with delta variants. Delta (denoted as B.1.617.2 strain) and Kappa (denoted as B.1.167.1) were first detected in India last year.
