Patna, Sep 16 (IANS)| Many people are surprised by the deposit of crores of rupees in the bank accounts of two children in Bihar. The incident is from Katihar district, where two class 6 students Ashish Kumar and Gurucharan Vishwas deposited Rs 6,20,11,100 and Rs 9,00,52,21,223 in their bank accounts on September 15. Both the children are residents of Pastia village of Baghaura Panchayat. His bank account is in Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank. Katihar District Magistrate Udayan Mishra also confirmed that the children have received a hefty amount.
“A huge amount was deposited in the accounts of the two children. The amount can be seen in the mini statement. Senior officials of the bank are being informed,” Mishra said. MK Madhukar, LDM, Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank said, “As soon as we came to know about money being deposited in the accounts of two children, we froze the accounts and stopped withdrawal. When the parents of the children were questioned. They were also unable to disclose the source of the funds. Now, we are probing the matter to find out who is the sender.”
Earlier, a person named Ranjit Das of Khagaria district of Bihar had also received five and a half lakh rupees in his Uttar Bihar Gramin Bank account. Das denied returning the money to the bank, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had promised each citizen Rs 15 lakh in their bank accounts. He said that he has received its first installment. Das further said that he had spent the money by withdrawing the money from the account. Now they have no money. When he showed his inability to return the amount, the bank officials lodged an FIR against Das and he was arrested by the Khagaria police. Now he is in jail.
