Disaster caused by cloudburst in Kishtwar district
It is raining heavily in different parts of the country. In such a situation, the havoc of heavy rains has also been seen in Jammu and Kashmir. Let us tell you that due to cloudburst in the early hours of Wednesday, more than 40 people have gone missing in Kishtwar district. After which the rescue operation has been started. So far the bodies of many people have been discovered. The Jammu and Kashmir government announced an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh each to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in the incident. Along with this, Rs 50,000 will be given to those seriously injured in this natural calamity and Rs 12,700 will also be given under SDRF.
Let us tell you that for the last few days, most parts of Jammu region have been receiving heavy rains. Along with this, a warning of more heavy rain has also been issued till the end of July. Also, officials in Kishtwar have asked people living in reservoirs and slide-prone areas to be vigilant. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rains in the coming days, due to which the water level in rivers and streams is expected to rise, posing a threat to the residents living near these areas.

According to the information received, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has spoken to the Lieutenant Governor and DGP of Jammu and Kashmir regarding the cloudburst in Kishtwar. Rescue operation is going on by SDRF, Army and local administration. At the same time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also told about this accident that the central government is continuously monitoring the situation after the cloudburst in Kishtwar and Kargil. He said that assistance is being provided continuously in the affected areas.
