In the recently completed elections to five states of the country, where the strength of the BJP has increased, the strength of the Bahujan Samaj Party has weakened. The condition of the Bahujan Samaj Party, which was in power four times in the country’s largest state Uttar Pradesh, is that it has only one MLA in the state. The same is the case in other states as well. The party has MLAs in eight states, of which Rajasthan has the maximum number of six. Apart from this, there are two MLAs each in MP, Chhattisgarh and Uttarakhand. UP, Punjab, Haryana and Bihar have one MLA each.
In view of all these situations, Bahujan Samaj Party leader Mayawati has now started preparing for change. On Tuesday, on the birth anniversary of party founder Kanshi Ram, Mayawati paid tribute to him at the party office in Lucknow. During this, he decided to make Girish Chandra the new leader of the party in the Lok Sabha in place of Ritesh Pandey. He has also informed about this by writing a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. In the letter, the former chief minister informed the Lok Sabha Speaker that Girish Chandra, MP from Nagina parliamentary constituency in Uttar Pradesh, would be the new leader of the BSP in the House, who was till now serving as the chief whip.
BSP has made Sangeeta Azad, MP from Lalganj Lok Sabha constituency, the chief whip of the party. Ram Shiromani Verma, MP from Shravasti, will continue as the Deputy Leader of BSP in the Lok Sabha as before. Ritesh Pandey, a Lok Sabha member from Ambedkarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, was made the Leader of the House by the BSP in January, 2020.
Paying tribute to Kanshi Ram, Mayawati said that the determination of BSP’s struggle to bring crores of Dalits, tribals, backward and other neglected sections of the country out of the life of helplessness and make them stand on their feet is the only way to keep Kanshi Ram true. Tribute.
Mayawati said, “Actually, in the current chamcha era, standing on the strength of the money earned by your blood and sweat on Babasaheb Dr. On its strength, BSP has also earned many historical successes, especially in Uttar Pradesh. In the future also, we have to remain persistent in the struggle with our principles.
