Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today made a shocking claim about the Pathankot attack in the Punjab Assembly. Mann said that after the Pathankot attack, he had demanded Rs 7.5 crore to send the army. Soon after that, Sadhu Singh and I reached the then Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Told him to cut my MP fund and write that Punjab is not a part of the country and army was hired.
Passed the motion of claim on Chandigarh: After Union Home Minister Amit Shah imposed Central Service Rules on the employees of Chandigarh Administration instead of Punjab Service Rules, the Aam Aadmi Party Government of Punjab has given a reply to the Center. A special session of the Punjab Assembly on Friday unanimously passed a resolution reiterating the state’s claim on the capital Chandigarh. Opposing this proposal, the BJP MLAs present in the assembly walked out of the house.
During this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann while addressing the House said that “I guarantee to the people of the state that I will fight for the rights of the state. I sought permission to meet the Prime Minister regarding this matter and I will take up this issue with him.”
While passing the resolution Mann has said that Punjab was reorganized through the ‘Punjab Reorganization Act, 1966’. The then Union Territory of Chandigarh and parts of Punjab were given to the then Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh. Since then, a proportionate balance was maintained in the administration of joint assets like the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) as well.
Opposition parties supported: This proposal of the Aam Aadmi Party government was supported by all the parties in one voice. Congress, Akali Dal and Bahujan Samaj Party supported these parties. BJP MLA Ashwini Sharma opposed the decision saying that she said the purpose of the resolution is to mislead the innocent people of the state so that the state government keeps hiding its failures. He further said that the Central Service Rules have been in force in Chandigarh from March 1, 1986 to March 31, 1991, but later the salary given by the Punjab government became more beneficial, then after the demand of the employees, they were shifted there. done
