Punjab Results 2022: The results of all the 117 assembly seats in Punjab have been declared. Aam Aadmi Party has registered a historic victory in the state elections. This tsunami of Aam Aadmi Party destroyed many forts of Congress-Akali Dal. Navjot Singh Sidhu has lost from Amritsar East. Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh lost the election, Akali Dal patriarch Parkash Singh Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal also could not save their seats. CM Channi has also lost in both the seats. Apart from this, Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika Sood has lost the election. AAP’s CM candidate Bhagwant Mann won the election from Dhuri by a huge margin. Enthused by this victory, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal has said that now is the time to bring revolution in the country.
Many big faces of Congress lost in the state. Captain Amarinder Singh, who rebelled against the Congress and formed his own party, also lost the election from his traditional seat, Patiala. Captain has been defeated by AAP candidate Ajit Pal Kohli. Ajit Pal Kohli was earlier in the Akali Dal.
On the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party’s CM face Bhagwant Mann has won the election. After AAP’s victory, Bhagwant Mann said that first of all he would work to remove unemployment. Mann defeated Congress candidate Dalveer Singh Goldie by a margin of over 58,000 votes.
Voting for the assembly elections was held on February 20. This time, a total of 1,304 candidates, including 93 women and two transgenders, were in the fray. He said that 71.95 percent polling was recorded in the state. Compared to the last three assembly elections, this time the voter turnout was the lowest.

The voter turnout was 77.40 per cent in the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, 78.20 per cent in 2012 and 75.45 per cent in 2007, as against only 65.14 per cent in 2002. Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has emerged as a major contender in the state this time, while the Congress is trying to retain power in a multi-cornered contest.
