Earlier, PM Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) also came together to oppose the women’s march. Dawn editorial attacked the hypocrisy of Imran Khan’s PTI. The newspaper wrote that all this shows her narrow and spiteful mindset in actual practice despite the pro-women laws in Pakistani society.

Human Rights Focus Pakistan (HRFP) on World Women’s Day with the help of Global Human Rights Defense (GHRD) expressed concern over the forced conversion of girls from religious minorities. During the demonstration in Faisalabad, the HRFP opposed the forced conversion and marriage of girls of other minorities including Hindus and Christians in the country. Speaker Naveed Walter said, “Right now there will be a common struggle to create a safe place for minority women in the country, because every year more than 1,000 minority women are facing challenges in the country.”
