On Thursday, the fourth trading day of the week, the stock market opened with a fall, but after a day’s trading, it finally closed on the green mark. The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange closed at 55,320 with a gain of 428 points or 0.78 per cent, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange closed at 16,478, up 122 points or 0.74 per cent.
At the beginning of the trading day, the BSE Sensex opened with a loss of 200 points, while the NSE Nifty opened below 16,400. Earlier in the last trading session on Wednesday, both the indices closed with a fall after the RBI’s decision to increase the repo rate. The BSE Sensex slipped 215 points to close at 54,892, while the NSE Nifty slipped 60 points to close at 16,356. Earlier, the Sensex opened with a jump of more than 200 points. Talking about the last trading session, the 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange lost 568 points to close at 55,107, while the Nifty of the National Stock Exchange slipped 153 points to close at 16,416.
