Delhi MCD Polls 2022: The dates for the municipal elections to be held in Delhi were not announced today. State Election Commissioner SK Srivastava said that some instructions have come from the central government. Due to which the dates cannot be announced. He said that the Government of India has raised some such issues. Which has not been legally investigated yet. We will not be able to announce the election dates at the moment. We’ll take a few more days.
CM Kejriwal tweeted
After the announcement was postponed, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the BJP has conceded defeat. Kejriwal tweeted. Wrote that out of 272 seats in our survey, 250 seats were coming. Now there will be more than 260 seats. But the Election Commission should not have come under the pressure of BJP.

Model code of conduct guidelines issued
The State Election Commission has already issued guidelines for the Model Code of Conduct. Which will come into force as soon as the dates are announced. More than 10.4 lakh voters are eligible to vote in the election. The last day for nominations in 2017 was April 3. The elections were held on 23 April. The results were declared on 26 April.
Voting will be held before April 23
At the same time, SEC officials, who held a review meeting for the elections on Tuesday, said that the preparations for revision of voter list and identification of centers etc. have been completed. Voting is likely to take place before April 23. Significantly, BJP, AAP and Congress have been preparing for elections for months. For the last 15 years, the BJP has dominated the municipal elections.
