Rohit Bhatt/Almora. In today’s fast-paced life, some disease or the other is increasing. After Corona, the risk of heart attack is continuously increasing these days. Experts are also very worried about the increasing cases of heart attacks, because earlier cases of heart attacks were seen in people above the age of 50, but now people of 20 years of age are also being seen. Many such cases have come to light in recent times where a youth died suddenly due to a heart attack in the gym and someone died suddenly on the field while playing cricket.
In view of the increasing risk of heart attack, the team of News 18 Local had a special conversation with Dr. Laxman Suthar, heart specialist of Life Care Hospital and Cardiac Center in Almora, Uttarakhand. Dr. Laxman Suthar said that due to our changing lifestyle, wrong eating habits, lack of nutritious food, not exercising regularly, there has been an increase in the cases of heart attacks since Corona.
One death due to heart attack every 33 seconds
Talking to Local 18, Dr. Laxman Suthar said that the increasing number of heart attacks is a matter of concern not only for India but also for the entire world. According to statistics, every 33 seconds one person is dying due to heart attack and every fourth death in India is due to heart attack. Earlier, cases of heart attack were seen in men after 40 years of age and in women after 55 years of age, but now cases of heart attack are seen even in the age group of 20 to 30 years.
The risk of heart attack is higher in men than in women
Dr. Laxman Suthar said that out of 1 lakh men, 349 men are at risk of having a heart attack. Apart from this, 265 women out of 1 lakh women are also at risk of having a heart attack. However, in case of serious heart attack, the chances of survival of women are very less.
Take these measures to avoid heart attack
Dr. Laxman told that if you want to protect yourself from heart related diseases, you should consume less than 6 grams of salt daily and drink 3 to 4 liters of water daily. Apart from this, you need to reduce stress and you can jog or walk daily so that you can stay away from heart attack related problems.
