On Monday, a bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and Justice Jyoti Singh of the Delhi High Court dismissed the challenge petition, observing that there was no proper reason to interfere with the transfer decision.
The bench also made it clear that the court was not expressing any opinion on the merits of the trial against him. On May 28, 2021, Bandyopadhyay did not attend a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the outbreak of Cyclone Yas at Kalaikunda Air Force Station.
