Becoming rich is everyone’s dream, but it is not achieved by luck alone. This requires right thinking, hard work and wisdom. Only those people are able to gradually build a strong financial foundation, who know how to manage and grow their money properly. However, in his *Niti Shastra* (a treatise based on policy-rules), Acharya Chanakya has told about some habits which can lift any person from the ground and take him to great heights. These principles not only help in accumulating wealth in a short period of time but also ensure a happy, prosperous and successful life in the long run. Come, let us know about these principles of Chanakya.
1. People stay with you only as long as your influence lasts
Chanakya says that just as a bumblebee hovers around a flower only as long as its fragrance remains; As soon as the flower withers, it leaves it and flies away. Exactly the same happens with humans too. As long as you have money and power, people will flock around you. But, when the situation starts worsening, people gradually start moving away from you.
2. Without money the mind is always troubled
Furthermore, Acharya Chanakya says that when one’s pockets are empty, his mind is constantly occupied with money-related worries. That person remains lost in the thought that how will he earn money and how will his daily expenses be met. In such a situation, the person forgets his dreams, relationships and happiness.
3. Ours also go away
When a person does not have money, it often happens that even his loved ones start distancing themselves from him. Those people for whom that person has worked hard day and night, they start taunting him and saying bad things about him. This thing hurts the most.
4. Without money, talent has no value
Chanakya emphasizes that if you do not have wealth, then people also ignore your innate abilities. No matter how intelligent or knowledgeable you are, people will not give you the respect you deserve.
5. No one listens to the poor
If a person does not have wealth, people do not believe what he says—even if what he says is completely true. People listen only to those who have money and power.
6. Only money brings respect
People who have wealth are respected everywhere. On the contrary, people who do not have money are often ignored by others.
7. Money enhances beauty
Chanakya says that if a person has wealth, then people ignore all his shortcomings. On the other hand, the qualities of a poor person often go unnoticed.
8. Without money, a person loses his identity
When someone’s pockets are empty, it seems as if he has disappeared from the world’s sight, even though he is still alive. No one listens to him, no one gives him importance.
9. True wealth is knowledge
Chanakya believes that the greatest wealth is knowledge. If you have any valuable skill or good education, you can go anywhere and earn your livelihood.
10. Earning money is very important
Earning money is not a matter of greed, but it is a serious responsibility. Without it, no one can support one’s family, and life cannot proceed properly.
11. Good company is very important
You become the people you hang out with. Therefore, always keep good and intelligent people around you.
12. Make good use of time
Only those people become successful and wealthy who use their time effectively. Time is truly the greatest asset.
13. Money comes from hard work and skill
If you are expert in your work, then gradually money will automatically start coming towards you. Therefore, always keep trying to improve your work.
14. Donating is also very important
If you have money, you should extend a helping hand to the needy. And even if you are short of money, you can still help others by giving your time or your advice.
