To make rice in a pan, first wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for about 1 hour. If the rice gets wet, put a pan on the gas. Keep the gas medium. Add desi ghee to it. When the ghee becomes hot, add cumin seeds, 1 clove, cinnamon stick and 4 black peppercorns. When cumin seeds crackle, add some salt to it. After that add rice and add water. Keep in mind that the watering should be accurate or else the rice will get wet. Slow down the gas and cover the pan. Keep the gas medium only. After 10 minutes check that the rice is cooked and the water has dried up, then turn off the gas. Now add chopped coriander leaves and leave the rice covered for 10 minutes.
