In order to ensure smooth conduct of Census-2027, the Haryana Government has decided to put on hold the transfers or postings of officers and employees of various departments associated with the census work till March 31, 2027. Necessary instructions have been issued to the concerned departments in this regard by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi.
According to the decision of the State Government, the ban on transfer of officers and employees who have been engaged in the work of Census-2027 or who come under the concerned administrative control will remain in force till March 31, 2027.
This order will be applicable to IAS/HCS officers, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars, District Revenue Officers, Education Department, Urban Local Bodies Department, Economic and Statistics Department and officers and employees of Information, Public Relations and Language Department. The state government has given instructions to disseminate information about these orders to all concerned officers and employees and to strictly follow them.
It is noteworthy that officers have been appointed at various levels for the census work. Under this, Divisional Commissioners have been appointed as Divisional Census Officers, Deputy Commissioners as Principal Census Officers and Additional Deputy Commissioners and City Magistrates as Additional District Census Officers.
At the district level, District Statistics Officer, District Planning Officer, District Education Officer, District Basic Education Officer, District Revenue Officer and District Information Officer have been made Deputy District Census Officer.
At the sub-divisional level, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil)/Sub Divisional Magistrate has been appointed as Sub-Divisional Census Officer, Tehsildars have been appointed as Charge Census Officers and Naib Tehsildars have been appointed as Assistant Charge Census Officers.
