Mirzapur, April 23 (). So far 11 people have died in a tragic road accident in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday night. The accident took place near Drummondganj Valley on National Highway-135, where a speeding truck hit several vehicles from behind, after which a fire broke out.
According to the police, on Wednesday around 8:20 pm, a truck (MP 15 HA 3775) hit a Swift car (UP 65 MT 4038), Bolero (UP 63 AC 5589) and trailer (BR 24 GC 7990) from behind near Barka Ghuman in Drummondganj area. The collision was so strong that the Bolero and Swift cars immediately caught fire.
In this accident, 9 people traveling in Bolero, including 4 children, and the truck driver died tragically on the spot. All the bodies have been badly burnt. At the same time, the body of the Swift car driver was stuck and efforts had to be made to remove it.
After receiving information about the incident, the police and administration team reached the spot. However, local people have expressed displeasure over the late arrival of the fire department. Police from many police stations including area officer Lalganj, police station head Drummondganj were engaged in relief and rescue operations on the spot.
Police say that initial information has been received that the brake of the truck had failed, due to which this incident occurred. Due to this collision, the vehicles caught fire, in which 11 people died. However, every aspect related to the incident is being investigated. The police is trying to find out what is the real reason behind this incident. At the same time, the process of informing the families of the deceased is going on.
Local people say that accidents happen every day in Drummondganj Valley. Complaints were made several times regarding the defects in road construction, but no concrete action has been taken till now.
At present, the police have registered the case and started investigation and further legal action is being taken.
