Dubai, 15 September (). India won by seven wickets against Pakistan on Sunday in the Asia Cup 2025. After the match, Indian players did not join hands with Pakistani players, which has tiled Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The PCB has filed an official complaint at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), calling it ‘against the spirit’.
PCB said in its statement, “Team manager Naveed Cheema has filed a protest against the behavior of Indian players. It has been considered against sportsmanship. In protest, we did not send our captain to the post match ceremony.”
Even during the toss against Pakistan, captain Suryakumar did not join hands with Pakistani captain Salman Aga. However, PCB said that the match referee had informed Salman about the toss.
The PCB said, “Match referee Andy Pycroft had asked Salman Aga not to join hands with the Indian captain at the time of the toss. Pakistan team management has lodged a protest against the sportsmanship.”
